Four Common Types of Car Accidents that Can Cause Injuries

Have you recently been in a car accident that was the result of someone else's distracted driving or mistakes?  Were you injured in this accident?  If a car accident leaves you injured, weak, or needing medical care, you may be eligible for insurance compensation to cover any expenses.  As a personal injury attorney in Orlando, we advise many of our clients that have suffered from injuries from auto accidents to get the settlement they deserve from the responsible individual.  Personal injuries occur all the time because of the negligence of another individual.  Auto accidents are some of the most common causes of personal injury lawsuits.  There are a few types of car accidents that can lead you to file a personal injury lawsuit.

Rear-End Collisions

These types of crashes occur when a vehicle crashes into the one that is driving in front of it.  These are the most common types of accidents, as they account for nearly 1/3 of all reported auto accidents.  When these are severe, they may actually even cause a multi-vehicle pileup.  Often times, they are the result of distracted driving, whether someone is not paying attention due to texting, talking, eating, or engaging in some other behavior.

T-Bone Accidents

T-Bone accidents occur when one driver pulls out and hits the side of another vehicle, therefore making a T-shaped accident occur.  This occurs when someone runs a red light or fails to stop at a stop sign at an intersection, which leads them into oncoming traffic.  When these types of accidents happen, the driver who failed to stop will be held accountable for any damages or injuries that are sustained in either vehicle.

Sideswipes

Sideswipes occur when the sides of two vehicles swipe the sides of one another.  This occurs when they are driving next to each other going the same direction.  Passengers sustain injuries to their arms, legs, neck, and back.  If the sideswipe occurs at a higher speed that causes you to swerve off the road or into other cars, you can sustain many more extensive injuries.  In worst cases, people that lose control of their car after being sideswiped and swerving may even end up rolling over, which can potentially even be fatal depending on the vehicle you are driving.

Head-on Collisions

Some of the worst injuries are sustained in head-on collisions.  These accidents are the most dangerous because of the force and speed of both vehicles when they crash directly into one another.  Depending on the type of vehicle that you drive, you may even sustain severe injuries that result in paralysis, lost mental capabilities, or even death.  These accidents can even throw passengers from the car, ignite the car on fire, or cause passengers to be pinned inside their cars.

These are some of the most common types of car accidents that may cause people to sustain injuries as a result of the negligence of another individual.
